Affinity Medical Center is located in Northeast Ohio, approximately 50 minutes south of Cleveland, 20 minutes south of Akron, and 2 hours northeast of Columbus. This area boasts an urban flavor with around 400,000 residents in the county, yet has a small town culture. In addition to great primary and secondary school systems (ranked in Ohio’s top 10), there are many colleges and universities in the area, as well as many cultural attractions within the community and surrounding area. A full range of medical and surgical services are offered, including a 12-bed technologically advanced Intensive Care Unit, a nine bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Center including two CVOR suites and four cardiac catheterization labs. Radiology services include both 64-slice and 16-slice CT capability and state-of-the-art MRI service. In addition, Affinity also offers Level III Trauma Care from a newly constructed Emergency Department, Orthopedic Unit, In-patient Rehabilitation, Wound Care, Geriatric Psychology, Pain Management and a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
The employment model for physician practices, as well as other models, is embraced at Affinity. The hospital currently manages several multi-specialty physician practices located within the market area. Additionally, Affinity is a teaching center for the Ohio University Heritage College and CORE (Centers for Osteopathic Research and Education). Affinity is accredited by the AOA (American Osteopathic Association).
