Nearby Mission, TX is home to North American Butterfly Association (NABA) International Butterfly Park. Also close by is the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, a lush preserve along the banks of the Rio Grande with over six hundred acres set aside to preserve native flora and fauna.
